Dr. Yee and his weekend receptionist, Sandy, joined a Global Health Outreach (GHO) team to Calshi, Ecuador to provide medical and dental care to the farming community. The town is located on the slopes of Mt. Chimborazo at an elevation of over 10,000 feet. The cool weather throughout the trip was much different than the hot tropical temperatures of Dr. Yee's past trips in Central America and in the Caribbean countries. 

The Quechuan people are South American natives living in the Andean highlands since the days of the Inca Empire. 

 Dr. Yee and Sandy (who previously worked as a dental assistant) worked in the dental clinic performing restorative treatment and teeth polishing, respectively. 

The medical team provided exams, counseling, medications, reading glasses, and walkers.
