Dr. Yee joined other volunteer health care professionals in Medical Ministry
International (MMI) to provide medical and dental care for the
rural residents in Jamaica. The Christian organization is dedicated to providing
for the spiritual and physical needs of the poor in third world countries.

Some sites we visited took almost 2 hours to reach from our base
camp. We drove on winding one-lane roads full of potholes and at the end
of our ride we were greeted by many grateful residents who waited hours
for our arrival.
We set up our portable dental chairs and created a makeshift dental clinic in church buildings and community centers.
Dental hygienists helped prepare the patients for the dentists by anesthetizing the teeth.
For many patients, this was their first dental visit. Dr. Yee and
the other doctors worked overtime everyday to see as many people as
possible. There was not a shortage of work to do.
Jamaican beef patties were always on the menu whenever we were able to take a short lunch break.
The Jamaican children were a highlight during Dr. Yee's travels.
When he wasn't treating patients, he loved hanging out with them.
