Dr. Yee joined a Global Health Outreach team of 36 physicians, dentists, nurses, chiropractors, physical therapists, pharmacists, and volunteers to provide healthcare to the residents of Ococona, Nicaragua.

The residents were grateful for their arrival to their town since their region lack access to adequate medical and dental care.

For many patients, this was their first visit to the dentist. They had either their first filling, extraction or cleaning. Although Dr. Yee could have spent an entire morning or afternoon on one patient, the dentists restricted themselves to treating just one tooth per patient so that they could spread out the dental care to as many people as possible.

The healthcare team saw around 2,000 patients during our week stay. The town received health care, reading glasses, and medication.
